One of the hotspots still for Buying Property Overseas as an investment or as your Holiday Home or second home is Turkey. The new region for developers is along the Turkish Riviera in the towns of Alanya, Oba and Mahmutlar (this is where we purchased our apartment).
The local turkish and foreign folks are all very friendly and don't let the language scare you off -- everyone goes out of their way to help you or find someone who can speak your language.
The Buying of property has even been made easier and you can't beat the great prices on food shopping or eating out.
